Membership Fees & Categories
i. Ordinary Member of the Institute (Member of the IoDT - MIoDT)
The primary pathway to becoming an Ordinary Member (MIoDT) is by completing our Certificate in Directorship program, a five-day training designed to build essential governance and leadership skills. Upon successful completion, participants are awarded Certified Director status and granted Ordinary Membership of the Institute.
Note: Both the membership fee and first annual subscription are included in the Certificate in Directorship course fee.
ii. Associate Member of the Institute
This category is designed for aspiring directors, managers, and professionals seeking to develop their leadership and governance skills, as well as directors certified by other Institutes of Directors outside Tanzania who wish to join and engage with the Tanzanian directors’ community.
Associate Members benefit from a pathway to full membership and gain access to IoDT’s professional network, events, learning resources, board recommendations and mentorship opportunities.
- Application Fee: TZS 300,000
- Annual Subscription Fee: TZS 150,000
Total: TZS 450,000 (first year)
iii. Fellow (Member) of the Institute
This prestigious category is reserved for distinguished directors and senior leaders with significant experience and notable contributions to corporate governance and leadership in Tanzania. Fellowship recognizes excellence, expertise, and commitment to advancing good governance.
iv. Retired Member of the Institute
For individuals who have retired from active professional or board service but wish to remain engaged with the Institute and its network. Retired members continue to enjoy select benefits and contribute their knowledge and experience to the IoDT community.
v. Honorary (Lifetime Achievement) Member of the Institute
Awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to leadership, corporate governance, or national development. This lifetime recognition celebrates outstanding achievement and dedication to excellence in governance and leadership.
