The IoDT was incorporated in September 2010. Its formal launch was by H.E. Mohammed G Bilal, the Vice- President of UR Tanzania in May, 2012 at the Dar es salaam Grand Hyatt.
The Institute is a voluntary and unique nation-wide membership organization for directors in their ‘individual’ professional capacity. Its mission is to champion best business practices and effective corporate governance – through professional development and certification programs, workshops, networking events, advocacy and thought leadership – supporting Tanzania as an attractive destination of foreign direct investment. It is also the voice of Directors (both private and public sector enterprises).
IoDT is the member of African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN), its motto is Better Boards, Better Business, and Better Tanzania.
